The Scilly Isles Rifles was established on the 4th of August 2024 by the Irish Army when Ireland occupied the islands from the United Kingdom during the Reclamation wars. The Irish Army passed over the islands to the Cornish Defence Force on the 30th of September when Ireland established the Republic of Cornwall. Since then the unit has acted as a reservist garrison occupied with defending the islands and its inhabitants.
The 7th Company was established on the 28th September by the Irish Army and two days later was transferred to the Cornish Army, it was originally made to be an active engineer company that would be deployed to support frontline vehicles during the Reclamation war, the unit was moved to reserves on the 2nd October and was chosen to be sent to Lebanon during the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon to help support the Irish troops established there.

On the 4th of October 2024 the Rifles was given a small artillery detachment of two guns to better improve the islands strength and readiness. It was considered to establish a naval base on the islands turning the Rifles from a platoon too a company with an additional platoon being added to garrison the base however these plans were never finalised and abandoned due to the Cornish economy being increasingly lessed focused on the military.

The unit has never seen any form of combat and has been considered for de-activation and to devolve the defence of the archipelego to the local Isles of Scilly Constabulary however these plans were not put in place due to the islands being used by other units of the military and so current installations would be required to be maintained by a local force, with the addition of the Irish Sea being increasingly used to smuggle drugs and weaponry.
