Organisation
Main articles: Structure of the Corkonian Navy
The navy is headed by His Majesty's Flag Officer Commanding the Navy (HMFOCN) who holds the rank of Admiral and is based at the Naval Headquarters (NHQ) in Naval Base Haulbowline in County Cork. NHQ oversees all aspects of the navy with a number of commands under it: Naval Operations Command (NOC) and Naval Support Command (NSC) of which all fall under the Admiralty Office. The Naval College, like the Defence Forces Training Centre is on an equal footing with the two commands, with all three headed by an officer commanding who report directly to the HMFOCN of NHQ.
The Naval Operations Command (NOC) is the command component of the Corkonian Navy and it is responsible for all day to day activities of the service both at sea and on shore and directs all operations. The command is a direct subordinate to the NHQ and is overseen by Officer Commanding Naval Operations Command (OCNOC). The OCNOC reports directly to the head of the navy, the HMFOCN.
The Naval Support Command oversees the personnel, logistical and technical resources of the NS, allowing the service to meet its operational and training commitments. Ship procurement, maintenance and repair, provisions, ordnance, food, fuel, personnel and transportation are handled by the Naval Support Command. Naval Support Command is headed by Officer Commanding Naval Support Command and reports directly to the HMFOCN.
