History
The Scilly Isles Rifles was established on the 4th of August 2024 by the Irish Army when Ireland occupied the islands from the United Kingdom during the Reclamation wars. The Irish Army passed over the islands to the Cornish Defence Force on the 30th of September when Ireland established the Republic of Cornwall. Since then the unit has acted as a reservist garrison occupied with defending the islands and its inhabitants.
On the 4th of October 2024 the Rifles was given a small artillery detachment of two guns to better improve the islands strength and readiness. It was considered to establish a naval base on the islands turning the Rifles from a platoon too a company with an additional platoon being added to garrison the base however these plans were never finalised and abandoned due to the Cornish economy being increasingly lessed focused on the military.
