The Royal Cork Rifles was a proposed infantry regiment of the Corkonian army that would comprise of three battalions[2]
Conception
The idea was that all Provinces would have one infantry regiment, the Royal Cork Rifles would encompass all infantry for Munster, and such the Royal Limerick Cavarly would encompass all Cavarly for Munster, this was the beginning of the Cork Regimental System.
Layout
It was planned too have three battalions of which none where specified what kind.
Abandonment
It was abandoned when Cork switched to a Regimental Brigade system where all counties have either a regiment or independent battalion/company with sub units serving specific tasks.
