Kangaraland is a nation located in south east Northern Territory, Australia, founded after being granted independence by Australia and the United Nations on the 19th of January 2024.

History

Independence from Australia

After frustration with the Northern Territory Government and the Commonwealth Government over neglecting the region, now-Governor General Redline_1 met with the Northern Territory Premier, Australian Prime Minister, and a United Nations representative to discuss forming Kangaraland as a separate nation. Skeptical at first, both governments were against the now-Governor General's proposal, however with careful negotiations with the United Nations, all agreed to allow Kangaraland to become a sovereign nation on the 19th of January 2024.

Geography

Kangaraland is located within the south east of the Northern Territory. The nation mainly includes the Northern Territory portion of the Simpson Desert, and borders with the towns of Ghan, Alice Springs, Anatye, and with the states of Queensland and South Australia.

Government

Military

Formed upon independence, the Kangaraland Defence Force (KDF) is the main military body within the nation. The KDF consists of the following regiments/corps:

• Kangaraland Regiment
• Kangaraland Military Police Corps (KMPC)
• Special Forces Regiment
• Air Regiment

Kangaraland is yet to open enlistment into the Kangaraland Defence Force.

Police

Formed upon independence, the Kangaraland Police Force (KPF) is the main policing body within the nation, alongside the Kangaraland Military Police Corps. The KPF is responsible for all regular policing duties, with the Kangaraland Military Police Corps (KMPC) being responsible for all specialist duties, such as counter-terrorism operations, hostage situations, etc.

Fire & Rescue Service

Formed upon independence, the Kangaraland Fire & Rescue Service (KFRS) is the main firefighting body within the nation. The KFRS is responsible for all firefighting, rescue, and ambulance service operations within the nation.
