The Royal Corkonian Airforce or the Corkonian Airforce is the air component of the Royal Corkonian Armed Forces, it is solely responsible for all aircraft usage (minus helicopters) within the Corkonian Armed Forces, such as air support, bombing runs, air logistics and more.

History

The Corkonian Airforce's activity throughout the years has been minimal at best, the airforce did have a regular deployment when it came to the homeland's defence however was rarely ever used in any wars. This being said the airforce was in multiple battles including the 2nd Cork-Celtic War and the 3rd Cork-Celtic War and the North Atlantic Naval Incident.

Organisation

The Corkonian Airforce is divided into Wings in which they are responsible for command over an entire region, i.e Hibernian Wing being in command of all aircraft within Ireland. Wings consist of groups which consist of squadrons which consist of flights, and that's essentially the summary of tactical command within the Corkonian Airforce.

Ranks and Insignias

The ranks and insignias of the Corkonian airforce are based around the real life Irish and British armies. The ranks have gone through a lot of changes over the years, however with the Corkonian Armed Forces 2024 Re-Organisation Act they were permanently fixed.

Equipment

Main Article: Equipment of the Corkonian Airforce
The Corkonian Airforce's inventory is filled from numerous aircraft from differing nations, of which a lot are logistical, recon and utility roles. Cork however does maintain a large fighter collection along with an air support arm.

Helicopters

The airforce typically does not operate helicopters as that role goes to the Army Air Corps, however the airforce does maintain a small fleet of helicopter aircraft all of which being utility aircraft for transport or vip transport.

The airforce sacrificed all helicopters to the Army Air Corps with the Corkonian Armed Forces 2024 Re-Organisation Act making a clear divide on what the army air corps main goal is.

  1. Lieutenant General is actively the highest rank in the Airforce, it is only held by the Chief of Airstaff (cork)
