The Rúisis battalion also known as the Ruisis Battalion or Slavic Battalion was a battalion in the Corkonian Army, it was active in sometime of 2022 however did not see much implementation. Little is currently known about the battalion as most if not all evidence of its existence or usage has been entirely lost, from what can be recalled it had its own uniform, rank insignia, beret and standards.

Conception

Battalion orbat.

The idea was proposed by Ceannaire grandhappy who saw the large influx of Slavic speaking users would benefit the Army, at the time there was 5 Russian speakers, 2 Polish speakers and 1 Croat comprising of 8 people and a chance too potentially increase, so having them divided into their own units would benefit the army as a whole, plus the leader of the army, Wefertee was a Russian speaker.

The idea saw criticism especially with English speaking officers and NCOs being unable too give orders or even communicate with NCOs from the Ruisis battalion.

Purpose

It served as the unit for all Slavic members of Cork too be enlisted into, it was designed too have three initial companies, these being:

  • A (Infantry) Coy (Russian, Kazak, Ukranian speakers)
  • B (Infantry) Coy (Polish, Hungarian, Ukranian speakers)
  • C (Artillery) Bat (Baltic languages speakers)
  • D (Armoured) Coy (Croat, Slovene, Slovak, Bosnian, Romanian speakers)
  • E (Medical, Logistics) Coy (Serbian, Macedonian, Montenegran speakers)

It was designed so people who spoke Slavic languages would be fitted with people who also spoke said languages, it was too be commanded by then Major General CARTIMMO.

Abandonment

It was ditched during 2023 when need for a Slavic based unit vanished.

Potential-reactiviation

From the Corkonian Armed Forces 2024 Re-Organisation Act, as Cork expanded into new areas of the world, particularly Algeria, there has been proposals for a foreign bases unit, these have somewhat been shut down in favour for colonial garrison battalions, such as the 4th Brigade consisting of colonial garrison battalions.
