The Russian Ground Forces, also known as the Russian Army, is the land component of the Russian Armed Forces. It serves as the primary branch of the armed forces and conducts all land based operations.

The Russian Ground Forces equipment consists of a mix between Soviet era equipment and modern Russian federation equipment. For example the bulk of the tank force consists of soviet era t-70, t-80 but modern Russian tanks are also used like the t-90[1].
